Chibcha were a tribe that lived where is now Boyaca, they were characterized by their love to the water.
When a person was too sick and saw near death day plunged the patient into a lake that they believing would heal him.therefore, for the chibcha was important to make a ritual of purification to appreciation in wich day offered flowers to the lake, some people had to keep the place clean for the last of the ritual to get into the lake and swim so purify their body and soul leaving water to bring all the impurities and when a person dies is thrown into the lake to clean all his sins.
